Walk-in shower installation in Miami

Walk-in shower installation in Miami

A walk-in shower is the single change that makes a bathroom feel newer, safer and larger at once. We build them from the substrate up, so the part you cannot see is as sound as the tile you can.

Thresholds and access

A low threshold is easier to step over. A curbless shower has none at all, which is the better answer if anyone in the house has trouble lifting a foot, or is likely to. Curbless needs the floor recessed and the slope planned before anything is poured, so it is decided at design time, not on site.

Benches, niches and the details that get skipped

A built-in bench has to be waterproofed as carefully as the floor, because it holds standing water in a way a wall never does. Same with niches: a recess cut into a wall is a hole in your waterproofing until it is sealed properly. We build both as part of the substrate stage rather than adding them at the end.

Waterproofing and the flood test

Every walk-in we build gets a membrane or liquid waterproofing system across the whole enclosure, sealed at every corner, seam and screw, then flood tested before tile. A walk-in with no door moves more water around the room than a tub-shower, so this is not the place to save money.

Glass

Frameless panels are measured after the tile is set, not before, so the glass matches the wall as built rather than as drawn. Open walk-ins with no glass at all work well when the room is big enough to keep the spray contained.

Getting a number

Size, threshold type and finishes drive the price more than anything else. We measure, then put a fixed scope and price in writing. Read what actually drives bathroom remodel cost, or ask us in the chat.
